If you ask your friends about Sophienclub in Mitte, most will have been there at some stage of their student life. This level ofpopularity makes it pretty clear: though small the club may be, it is a Berlin institution. Sophie on Sophienstraße in Berlin-Mitte has been a fixture for 30 years. Don’t expect a club that’s all about being stylish, expect much more a great atmosphere and a laid-back crowd.
The weekends play all times favourites, basically something for every musical taste. Weekdays are reserved for Rock, Indie and Alternative.
Thursday is Indie-Day with the East Berlin Indie Company, kicking off at 11:00 pm. Sophie’s philosophy are student-friendly prices for drinks and tickets. Fridays until midnight, girls get in for free. The smokers’ lounge holds a table top soccer.
